Bristol Man Charged As Fugitive In Connection With Hernandez Case

The New Britain State’s Attorney’s office says an arrest has been made in connection with the Aaron Hernandez case.

Authorities say Carlos Ortiz of Bristol is charged in Connecticut as a fugitive from justice.  He waived extradition to Massachusetts at a court appearance in Bristol yesterday. There’s no word on what Ortiz’s connection is with Hernandez,  the former New England Patriots player charged with murder and weapons offenses  in the shooting death of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez is being held without bail in Attleboro. He has a bail review hearing this afternoon.

Bristol Police and the New Britain States’s Attorney’s Office say they will have no further comment at this time.  Documents in the case have been sealed.
