Malloy Headed On Vacation

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is heading to the Massachusetts island of Nantucket for a quick vacation with his wife Cathy Malloy.

The governor’s office said the Democrat will being taking personal time off beginning Wednesday. But Malloy will back on the job Friday and Saturday, participating in a Democratic Governors Association meeting that is being held on the same island.

Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, chairman of the Democratic Governors’ Association, is hosting a “Governor’s Cabinet Retreat” on Nantucket.

The DGA is an independent political organization that helps to elect Democratic governors and candidates. Currently, there are 20 Democratic governors across the country.
