Other Boaters Rescue Six From Sinking Yacht

Other boaters rescued six people from a sinking boat off Waterford Saturday afternoon.  The captain’s distress call reported he believed he had hit something and the boat  started taking on water.

No one was injured and there was no fuel leak.

The boat, which was a 63-foot fishing-type vessel, was three-quarters submerged minutes after taking on water, according to  Goshen Fire Chief Donald Chapman,  Jr. A marine salvage company was called.
