Employee Tied Up In Vernon Holdup

Vernon police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a holdup this morning at the People’s United Bank at Tri-City Plaza.

Police say a man approached an employee arriving for work,  claiming to have a bomb.  He accompanied her into the bank,  and inside the bank tied up one employee and made off with an employee’s vehicle.

The vehicle was found a short time later off Deming Street in Manchester.  The police bomb squad responded to the scene, but no bomb was located.  The suspect is believed to have fled toward Northwest Park in Manchester
