NEW HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Authorities have been searching for a woman who went missing after falling out of a raft on the Farmington River early Saturday.

Police say the 33-year-old New Hartford woman fell into the water after the raft she was in hit a rock and capsized.

The victim was in a party of two rafts that entered the water at about 2:30 a.m. on Route 44, a mile west of Satan’s Kingdom State Recreation Area.

Authorities say a man traveling in the capsized raft swam to shore. They say two other men traveling in a second raft also swam to shore.

Authorities say the search operation, which includes boats, aircraft and police dogs, will continue until sunset and resume Sunday morning if the victim isn’t found.

Police haven’t released the woman’s name.
