MILFORD,  Conn. (AP) _ A 47-year-old man has been pulled from Long Island Sound after spending about an hour in the water after his kayak overturned.

Milford police tell the New Haven Register  the kayaker was found near Charles Island just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The man, whose name has not been released, was treated for hypothermia at a local hospital. They say the water temperature at the time was about 63 degrees.
