Second Arrest In Group Home Abuse Case

There’s a new development in the arrest of a group home worker caught on video last summer abusing a resident of the East Hartford home for adults with developmental disabilities.  Police now say the assistant manager of the Options Unlimited home on King Street in East Hartford is charged with inciting the abuse.

Witnesses told police the assistant manager, 43-year-old Stephanie Jones, knew of the abuse by Angelica Rivera,  and kept video recordings of the abuse.  When police went to Jones’ home in East Hartford with a search warrant,  they found the recordings.

The Department of Developmental Services put Options Unlimited under increased oversight after last summer’s felony arrest of Rivera.
