New Haven Cops Turn Tables On Alleged Cell Phone Thief

A New Haven man is in hot water after police say they dialed the cell phone he allegedly stole minutes earlier.

They say a woman noticed two men near her car at South Orange Street and Campbell Avenue just before 11 o’clock Tuesday morning.

One of them reached into the car and snatched a pair of cell phones before fleeing.

Officers later spotted a man that fit the description of one of the suspects.

Officer Warren Palmer dialed the number of one of the phones, which was ringing in Alexis Rivera’s pocket.

The 31-year-old now charged with larceny in the third and sixth degrees.
