Bear Spotted In Newington

There’s been another bear sighting in Connecticut.

This time, Newington police say a bear was spotted in their town just before 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The animal was seen roaming around the area of Willard and Harding Avenues.

Officers responded and tracked the bear through several backyards before it retreated into a wooded area on the east side of Main Street.

They say the animal did not exhibit any aggressive behavior and was not in the company of any cubs.

Officials continue to advise residents if they spot a bear to contact their local authorities.
