Police Investigate Springfield Murder

A young man is dead and police are investigating following a shooting incident in Springfield, Mass. Saturday night, the city’s ninth homicide this year.

Police arrived at 110 Woodside Terrace at 11:15pm Saturday for an immediate assist following reports of a man down. Detectives later identified the victim as 19-year-old Christian Graves of West Alvord Street, Springfield.

Upon arriving on the scene, police found Graves near the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers called in for EMT crews, who arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.

Graves is said to have a long record with the Springfield Police Department.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, as well as looking into two other homicides that occurred in the same area earlier this year. At this time, there are no arrests.
