Third Man Charged In Theft At Waterbury DMV

WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) _ State police say they’ve arrested a third man in connection with a theft at the state Department of Motor Vehicles office in Waterbury three years ago.

Forty-one-year-old Marco Santiago of Waterbury was charged Thursday with burglary, larceny and other crimes. He was held on $250,000 bail pending arraignment in Waterbury Superior Court.

Authorities say thieves disarmed the DMV office alarm system in January 2010 and stole an ATM containing more than $20,000 and other DMV property.

Troopers last week arrested two other Waterbury men, 28-year-old Jose Gonzalez and 41-year-old Roberto Santiago, in connection with the break-in.

It’s not clear if Marco Santiago has an attorney. A message was left Thursday for a lawyer who represented a Marco Santiago in Waterbury with the same year of birth.
