Four Connecticut Light & Power workers were injured today, during an explosion in a manhole in Hartford.
CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross says the injuries do not threaten the lives of the employees.
“All were wearing their safety gear. They were transported to Hartford Hospital,” Gross said. “It was routine work, regular maintenance work.”
“Initially, about 9,000 customers experienced a brief power outage,” Gross said. Service was restored in the afternoon.
The explosion took place on Wyllys Street shortly after 10 o’clock this morning.
