Navy To Change Command At Submarine School

GROTON, Conn. (AP) _ The Navy is changing commanders at its Submarine School in Groton.

The Navy announced Tuesday that Captain Andrew Jerrett will relieve Captain David Roberts as commanding officer in July.

Roberts, who has been the commanding officer since August, 2011 is staying at the Submarine Base to take command of the Submarine Learning Center.

The learning center is responsible for coordinating training efforts at the Navy’s six submarine training sites across the nation.

Captain Jerrett comes to the Submarine School from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he is currently the deputy commandant of Midshipmen.
