The new American Athletic Conference, which includes the University of Connecticut, has unveiled its new logo, in preparation for its July 1 launch. The graphic features an uppercase letter A, with a star forming the open center.
Commissioner Mike Aresco says he’s pleased with the graphic look for the new conference, calling it “elegant,” and “classic.” He says they discussed the look with school presidents, athletic directors and student athletes.
Besides UConn, schools in the conference are Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis, SMU, Temple, UCF, and USF.
East Carolina, Tulane and Tulsa will join in 2014; Navy in 2015.
