Air Quality Warning For Sensitive Groups

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is forecasting unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups Thursday through Saturday in parts of the state.  Elevated concentrations of ground-level ozone pollution are predicted.

The DEEP says southern parts of Middlesex and New London counties are expected to have unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups on Thursday,  then the forecast expands to include unhealthy air for sensitive groups in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford and Tolland counties  Friday and Saturday.

DEEP says a forecast of “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” indicates increased likelihood of respiratory symptoms and breathing discomfort in active children and adults with respiratory disease.
