Metro-North Worker Killed By Train

A Metro-North track worker was struck and killed by a train in West Haven about noon today.

Fifty-two year-old foreman Robert Luden was from East Haven.

Metro-North said the employee was hit by a train that had left New Haven just a few minutes earlier at 11:53, and was heading to Grand Central Terminal.

The incident took place at the construction site of the future West Haven station, in an area where the track is curved.

Train service was suspended between New Haven and West Haven in both directions.  It resumed about 1:40 pm.

Metro-North was arranging bus service between the two nearest stations, in Milford and New Haven
