One Dead In Wrong-Way Accident In West Hartford

State Police say a West Hartford man was killed and a Waterbury man suffered life-threatening injuries when a pickup truck and a car collided on Interstate 84 in West Hartford early Sunday morning.

Police say twenty-year-old Christian Romero was eastbound on Interstate 84 near exit 40 shortly after 1:30 when the pickup truck he was driving was struck by a Honda Accord headed westbound in the eastbound lane.  Romero was killed and the driver of the Accord,  46-year-old Meny Lam,  was listed in critical condition.

The eastbound lanes were closed for a time early Sunday while police investigated and the crash scene was cleared.
