Two Dead, Three Injured In South Windsor Accident

Two teenagers  are dead and three others were taken to the hospital, one by LifeStar,  after an SUV with five people went off Abbe Road on the South Windsor-East Windsor line about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the operator appears to have lost control on the undulating section of rural road

South Windsor Police Chief Matthew Reed called it a violent crash,  which sent pieces of the vehicle into a tree a distance from the scene.   The resident who called police after hearing screeching wheels and a crash found debris in the front yard.

Police say the dead teens were   15 year old Brooke Wormstedt of East Windsor and 18 year old Matthew Masse of Vernon.Both were in the  back seat at the time of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.   The injured are,the driver 19 year old Sara Ballard of South Windsor,17 year old Christine Huppe of  South Windsor and 16 year old Megan Barnaby of  East Windsor.
