Passenger Suit Filed In Metro North Derailment, Collision
Attorneys for one of the victims of last week’s trail derailment and collision along the Metro North New Haven line have filed a lawsuit.
Lawyers for 65-year-old Elizabeth Sorenson filed the suit in federal court in today.
Soreneson remains in critical condition with arm, leg and pelviC fracutres, as well as substantial brain trauma.
Attorney Joel Faxon says they’ll now have the ability to conduct depositionS and subpoena witnesses.
The announcement comes on the heels of word from the National Transportation Safety Board that one of the train engineers described an unusal track condition prior to the derailment.
Last month, the NTSB says a cracked joint bar used to hold two sections of rail was repaired by Metro North.
