Bronze Statues Stolen In Madison

Madison Police are currently heading an investigation into the theft of two bronze statues, which were stolen from a display outside the Madison Stop & Shop on Samson Rock Road sometime between May 15 and May 16.

The statues were created by New Jersey sculptor Dana Stewart, and are property of the Hollycraft Foundation, a non-profit organization which sponsors The Sculpture Mile, an outdoor exhbition of artwork throughout Madison.

With the landmarks’ estimated collective value of $19,500, the Madison Police Department is asking the public for help in locating the stolen items. Police provided pictures of the statues and asked citizens to keep an eye out for one larger statue weighing 50lbs and another smaller one weighing 20lbs.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the case’s lead investigator Sgt. Neal Mulhern at 203-318-3040, or Officer Chris Suduck at 203-318-3041.
