GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) _ Greenwich police say a Canadian woman who was on a watch list for trespassers was arrested Wednesday at a polo field where Britain’s Prince Harry was preparing to play in a charity match.
Police say 36-year-old Wen Qi of Toronto was trespassing in an attempt to gain access to the event. She was charged with criminal trespassing and held in lieu of $1,000 bond.
Greenwich police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said Thursday a security agency asked that officers be on the lookout for Qi as a possible trespasser.
The charity match at the Greenwich Polo Club was attended by a crowd of about 400 people including many high-profile fashion industry figures. It wrapped up a weeklong visit to the United States for Prince Harry.
