Bristol Police say a parolee was picked up after trying to grab a three-year-old walking with his mother on Prospect Street in Bristol. Police say the mother approched the woman, who was walking with her two children and asked what she was doing with his baby, then tried to grab the child from the mother.
The mother told police she took her son back, but the man continued to follow them for a time. She walked home and called police.
Police say members of the community helped them identify the supect as 50-year-old John Brasseur, who was under supervision of the Waterbury parole office. Wolcott police held Brasseur until Bristol authorities could pick him up.
He’s charged with risk of injury to a minor, unlawful restraint and breach of peace, and the parole office ordered that he be returned to custody.
