HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Members of the state’s congressional delegation are seeking to draw attention to the impact of automatic federal budget cuts on Connecticut.
U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy is scheduled to meet with senior citizens on Friday at Rose City Senior Center in Norwich to discuss the effect of the budget cuts on the Meals on Wheels program in Connecticut.
State Sen. Cathy Osten and Reps. Kevin Ryan and Emmett Riley, all Democrats, are expected to join Murphy at the event.
Also on Friday, U.S. Rep. Jim Himes is expected to discuss the impact of the budget cuts on the state’s public housing programs. He’s scheduled to appear at the Harborview Towers in Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Housing Authority workers, management and tenants are scheduled to join Himes and other elected officials at the event.
