Vernon Police Probe Early Morning Burglaries

Police in Vernon are trying to figure out if several early-morning burglaries were in any way connected.

They say the incidents occurred between the hours of three o’clock and 4:30 a.m.

In the first case, officers were dispatched to a home on Morrison Road after the resident reported someone walking around inside.  Several items and cash were taken.

In the second incident, around 4:15 a.m., the resident in a Dailey Circle home apparently scared off an intruder before they got inside.

Finally, around seven a.m., a resident on Highland Avenue awoke to find the house had been broken into.  A pocketbook and other items were reported missing.

In one of the burglaries, police say the suspect entered an unlocked rear door.

Officers urge residents to close and lock all ground floor windows, as well as doors when not home or asleep.
