There is a new development in a controversy related to the New Britain to Hartford busway, dubbed “CT fastrak” by the state.

A state Department of Transportation public hearing that had been scheduled for today, on the shut down of Flower Street has now been postponed.

Sources say a tentative deal may be close, between the city of Hartford, and the state. The details of the potential agreement have NOT yet been released, and nothing has been finalized.

As part of the CT Fastrack project, the state Department of Transportation had planned to close off Flower street, and to prevent people from walking across the busway.

Flower Street is already closed to motor vehicle traffic. But some residents and the city opposed the plan to cut off a sidewalk, saying it would make it more difficult to get from Farmington Avenue to Capitol Avenue.
