Toddler Dies Of Injuries In Accident; North Carolina Man To Face More Charges

Waterbury police say they expect to file an additional charge against a North Carolina man  after a toddler injured in an accident on Wolcott Street died of her injuries.  

Police say 31-year-old Anthony Lee Faulk was southbound on Wolcott Street near Long Hill Road when he ran into the rear of a car stopped at a traffic light there.  He,  the driver of the other car,  18-year-old Takiah Rollinson,  her passenger,  19-year-old Demonae Coleman and her daughter,  16-month old Aaliyah Santiago all were injured in the accident.

The adults were treated and released from St. Mary’s Hospital, but the toddler,  transferred by Lifestar to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center,  died of her injuries overnight.  Police say she had been strapped in a child car seat in the rear of the vehicle.   

Faulk was charged with under the influence,  assault with a motor vehicle and other motor vehicle charges.  Police say they expect to charge him with manslaughter with a motor vehicle.
