New Haven Man Critically Injured After Riding Car Hood

Police, Fire and EMT crews in New Haven responded to an accident with injuries on Shepard Street just before 8pm Saturday. Authorities say Michael Carey, 21, went for a ride on the hood of a car and then was ejected off the hood during what authorities are calling a “dangerous game.”

Carey was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital by ambulance where he is listed in critical condition.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle was Naquasia Ricks of West Haven.

Members of the Crash Investigation Unit were involved in the investigation.

Plans were made to toe the car to the Police impound yard at Sherman Parkway.
