Police: ‘Victim’ In Shooting Was A Co-Conspirator

Hartford police say one of the victims in a shooting on Bedford Street in March is actually a co-conspirator in the case who was accidentally shot by the other suspect.  Two people suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the attack.

Police now say that one of those hospitalized after the shooting,  22-year-old George Harris is believed to be a co-conspirator who was hit accidentally,  He is charged with hindering prosecution.  The main suspect is 21-year-old Kevan Simmons of Hartford,  who faces charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, assault and weapons charges in the case.

Police say Simmons is considered a “person of interest” in another recent violent shooting, and they asked that anyone with any information about him call Lieutenant Brian Foley, (860) 757-4463,  or the Crime Stoppers tip line, (860)722-TIPS (8477.)

Police say Simmons has been arrested 28 times by Hartford Police:  Harris, 24 times.
