Bridgeport Child In Critical Condition After Hit And Run

A hit and run accident in Bridgeport has left a two-year-old child in critical condition.

Police say the incident occurred Tuesday night shortly after nine o’clock in the 600 block of Capital Avenue.

According to investigators, the little one was struck as he was holding his mother’s hand outside their vehicle as she tended to her second child, who’d unbuckled his child restraint chair and jumped into the driver’s seat.

A vehicle hit the youngster who was outside and continued east on Capital Avenue.

The injured child sustained serious head trauma.

Right now, police do not have a description of the vehicle.  The investigation is continuing.
