Woman Found Dead in Hartford Street

At approximately 11:08 p.m. Thursday Hartford police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Auburn and Westland Streets on a report of a disturbance and an unconscious female. At 11:09 p.m., officers found an unconscious female lying on Auburn Street and immediately began CPR in the street. The female, 21 from Hartford, was taken to St. Francis Hospital, via ambulance, where she was pronounced dead right around midnight.

Police are not yet labeling this incident a homicide. St. Francis Medical staff have reported to detectives that the victim has no obvious signs of trauma. Witnesses are reporting that the victim was involved in an mutual altercation with another female when the victim separated from the altercation and collapsed. At this point, police believe weapons were not used in the altercation. All indications are that the two involved females were known to each other. It’s currently being investigated as a death investigation.
