At 9:35 p.m. Friday, New Haven police, firefighters and EMTs were dispatched to the intersection of Goffe Street and the Ella T. Grasso Boulevard regarding a serious motor vehicle crash.

They arrived at a two-car accident to find four people injured and in need of medical attention and rescue. There were three occupants in one vehicle who suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the second vehicle – a 29 year old female – is in a coma at Yale-New Haven Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

One of the involved vehicles struck and broke a utility pole.

All of those hospitalized are adults, however their identities are not yet being released.

Police continue to investigate.
