State Man Dies In New Jersey Shooting

ASBURY PARK, N.J. (AP) _ A Connecticut man has died from wounds suffered in a central New Jersey street shooting that left another man wounded.

Monmouth County prosecutors tell the Asbury Park Press of Neptune  that 30-year-old Orlando Rowe of Bridgeport and 23-year-old Daquin Calhoun of Freehold was each shot “multiple times” around 7:20 p.m. Thursday in Asbury Park.

A city police officer heard the shots and responded to the scene, where the two victims were found lying on the ground in front of a home.

Rowe died a short time later at a hospital, while Calhoun remained hospitalized Friday in stable condition

Further details on the shootings have not been disclosed, and a motive remains under investigation.
