WATERFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A reactor operator at the Millstone nuclear power complex in Waterford has been suspended after officials say he tested positive for alcohol at work.

A spokesman for Millstone owner Dominion told The Day of New London ( ) that the worker was given breath and urine tests for alcohol Tuesday night after his supervisor noticed unusual behavior.

Spokesman Ken Holt says the tests came back positive and the worker was suspended pending a review by Millstone medical officers.

The reactor operator’s name wasn’t released. Holt says the worker was assigned to the Unit 3 reactor, which has been shut down since Saturday for routine refueling.

Holt says the employee wasn’t in a control room or near the reactor at the time.
