HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has ordered all U.S. and state flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Three people were killed and more than 170 injured when two bombs exploded Monday near the marathon’s finish line.
Malloy says he issued the flag order Tuesday after President Barack Obama signed a proclamation ordering flags at the White House and all government buildings to be flown at half-staff in honor of the explosion victims.
Malloy says Connecticut residents’ thoughts and prayers are with the people of Massachusetts. He says Connecticut is ready to offer any help that Massachusetts officials need.
Malloy says flags in the state should remain at half-staff until sunset on Saturday.
