Police say they responded to the Blue Hills Fire Department shortly before 3 p.m. Monday. Emergency workers performed CPR and brought the infant to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, where the child was pronounced dead.

The baby’s name hasn’t been released.

Family members told police that a parent discovered the infant wasn’t breathing while the child was taking a nap. Relatives rushed the baby to the nearby firehouse and called 911 on the way.
