Police: 2 Hartford Men Charged in Upstate NY Shooting

WHITEHALL, N.Y. (AP) _ State police say two Connecticut men have been charged in connection with a shooting last week at an eastern New York mobile home park.

Troopers say two trailers were hit by multiple rounds early Friday morning at a trailer park in the Washington County town of Whitehall, on the Vermont border 65 miles northeast of Albany. Police say several people were inside both trailers at the time but no one was injured.

Authorities say they’ve charged 23-year-old Francisco Gonzalez and 40-year-old Jose Febus, both of Hartford, Conn., with attempted murder, criminal use of a firearm and drug possession. It couldn’t be determined if they had lawyers.

Police say they found crack cocaine, powder cocaine and heroin in the two men’s Whitehall motel room.

Troopers say the shootings were retaliation for an earlier drug dispute.
