New Britain Man Killed In Bloomfield Crash
BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ Police say a New Britain man is dead after a vehicle he was riding in crashed and was partially submerged in a stream in Bloomfield.
Officers responding to a report of the accident on Tariffville Road found Vincent Shorter in a pond of water about 35 feet from the overturned vehicle early Saturday.
He received emergency care at the scene and was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where physicians pronounced him dead about two hours later.
Police did not say whether the 28-year-old Shorter was the only person in the vehicle.
A Bloomfield police spokesman did not immediately return a call for additional details, including whether they believe another vehicle was involved in the crash.
Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash or with any information to contact investigators.
