State Police arrested Sebastian Award, 24, of Deep River Saturday, following last week’s armed robbery at the Days Inn in Old Saybrook. The incident turned into a police chase, and ultimately an exchange of gunfire in Westbrook that killed one suspect and sent a State Trooper to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Award was served the arrest warrant at Hartford Hospital where he is recovering from his injuries and remains under guard.

He faces a slew of charges including two counts of Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault on a Police Officer, and two counts of First Degree Robbery. He is being held on $1.5 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday if he is discharged from the hospital.
