HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A parade has been scheduled for Sunday in Hartford to honor Connecticut’s national champion women’s basketball team.

Gov. Dannel Malloy’s office says details will be released later Thursday, but the parade is expected to begin and end at the state Capitol with a victory rally to follow.

The Huskies beat Louisville 93-60 on Tuesday night to earn the program’s eighth national NCAA title, tying Tennessee for the most ever in women’s college basketball.

About 2,000 people showed up Wednesday for a “victory lap” and rally on campus.

Past championship parades in Hartford have drawn hundreds of thousands of fans.
