Suspect Sought In New Haven Shooting

New Haven police say a man is being treated for non life-threatening injuries after being shot in front of his home Wednesday night.

The victim, identified as Rafael Marty, told police he was shot in front of his home on Button Street.  He ran from the suspect and called 911 before flagging down an officer in front of a Spring Street home.

Police say Marty told them the suspect pulled up in a black Nissan Altima with tinted windows.  Marty says when the suspect asked for a cigarette, he was shot in the lower abdomen.

Marty is being treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The suspect is described as a thin black who was wearing all black.
