Twenty-seven Arrested In Connecticut, In National Immigration Operation
So far, twenty-seven people have been taken into custody in Connecticut, as part of a nation-wide illegal immigration crackdown.
Federal officials say the operation is ongoing all this week.
ICE spokesperson Ross Feinstein says the agency is targeting people who have committed crimes, and are in the country illegally.
“This is not a random operation, targeting random people,” Feinstein said. “We are going after very specific individuals by name, and those are the people we are ultimately arresting and deporting.”
But a New Haven immigration attorney says some of the people in custody have only committed minor crimes.
