Two Men From Out-Of-State Arrested On Drug Charges

The Troop D Quality of Life Task Force, along with help from a member of the Brooklyn Resident Troopers Office, stopped a rental car with North Carolina license plates off Route 12 in Killingly just before 6:30pm on Saturday. After the operator of the vehicle consented to a search, investigators found about 22lbs. of synthetic marijuana that was packaged in 1,300 bags for bulk sale. Authorities believe the substance has an estimated street value of $20,000. Cash totaling $3,000 was also found in the vehicle.

Hassan Khalid, 28, of Minnesota, and Waseem Ahmad, 44, of Maryland were arrested for possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with the intent to sell.

Khalid and Ahmad are being held on $75,000 cash/surety bonds and are scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on April 17th.
