Tolland High School Locked Down After Report Of Possible Violence

Tolland High School was put into a lockdown this afternoon, after a student told a teacher he had heard about some possible violence that might take place after school.

Town education officials said the student was not making a threat, just repeating something he had heard about.

The lockdown has since been lifted, and students were sent home shortly after their usual dismissal time.

The high school’s principal ordered the lockdown as a precaution.

School officials say it was not immediately clear if the supposed violence was to have been on campus or off campus.  It was also not clear what level of possible violence was reported.
