Police Arrest Suspect In Dozens Of Break-Ins

Hartford Police say they’ve arrested a Hartford man in connection with numerous recent break-ins in the city.  Cars have been broken into and electronics stolen downtown,  and in the Asylum Hill and West End neighborhoods.

Police say a security guard reported seeing a suspect smash a car window on Asylum Street downtown and steal an iPod from inside.  The guard followed the man and called Hartford Police,  who arrested 41-year-old Denzil Nurse on Main Street.

Police say they’ve also received security camera footage of Nurse in recent weeks. They extimate he’s responsible for 25 to 35 car break-ins in several weeks.  He has an extensive criminal history,  including 27 arrests in Hartford.  Current charges include burglary, criminal mischief and larceny.  Police say they will be applying for additional warrants in the days ahead.
