Vernon Police: Remains ID Will Take Weeks

Vernon Police Detectives continue to work with the Connecticut State Police, Medical Examiner and State Forensic Lab to identify the skeletal remains recovered from West Street. The remains have been brought to the State Forensic Lab for identification. Vernon Police have been working closely with the Forensic Lab, however, the Forensic Lab estimates it will likely take several weeks to make an identification.

While awaiting a positive identification of the remains, Vernon Police Detectives are actively working with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on the investigation.

Vernon Police will release more information after a positive identification has been made.
