Governor Malloy has ordered that flags be flown at half staff in order of a Connecticut Marine who died this week in a training exercise.

Lance Corporal Roger Muchnick  was one of seven Marines killed Monday night when a mortar shell exploded during a training exercise at an ammunition depot in Nevada.

Muchnick, who was 23 and a graduate of Staples High School, was a member of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.
