Flags Ordered To Half-Staff

Governor Malloy has ordered U.S. and state flags to fly at half staff in honor of the latest member of the military with state ties to be killed in Afghanistan.

Army Captain Andrew Pedersen-Keel was killed in an attack at a police station in eastern Afghanistan.  The West Point graduate was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  He was a 2002 graduate of Avon Old Farms School,  and his family lives in Madison.

The governor instructed that flags remain at half-staff until Captain Pedersen-Keel’s burial or memorial service.
