UConn’s Olander Fractured Foot

UConn today said men’s basketball player Tyler Olander fractured his left foot during the team’s last game, again st the University of South Florida.

He will not be able to play again this season.

The university says surgery is likely.   Olander will see a surgeon Monday.

The 6′ 9″ forward is from Mansfield.  He has been averaging 4.3 points and 3.6 blocks in 21.6 minutes per game.

UConn has been hit by a string of injuries in recent games, to players including Shabazz Napier, Omar Calhoun, Niels Giffey.

UConn’s last game of the season is Saturday against Providence.
