Police Say Man Faked Chest Pains In Escape Attempt

A man arrested this week on several outstanding warrants in South Windsor is facing more trouble after officers say he faked chest pains in order to escape custody.

Thirty-five-year-old Corey Ouimette was initially picked up Tuesday night.

As he was being processed, police say Ouimette complained of chest pains and was transported to Manchester Hospital.

While he was being checked out, police say Ouimette made a run for it, attempting to flee out an exit door.

He was subsequently hit with a taser and captured.

Following his hospital discharge, Ouimette was brought back to police headquarters, where he was charged with escaped from custody, failure to appear, and violation of probation.  He’s being held on bonds totaling $82,500.
