A federal judge finds that — so far — Quinnipiac University has fallen short of fulfilling all the requirements of gender equity laws in sports.
The decision was dated yesterday.
Connecticut Civil Liberties Union Legal Director Sandra Staub represents female athletes at the school.
“The judge decided taht Quinnipiac University has failed to demonstrate that it has cured its violation of Title Nine,” Staub said.
Under the judge’s order, Quinnipiac sports must continue to be supervised, as efforts continue to give female students the same opportunities to play as male athletes.
The school asked the judge to release it from federal oversight, but the request was rejected.
